Fresh Pantry Recipes: Korean Beef Bulgogi

Korean Beef Bulgogi is one of those meals that delivers big on flavour with very little effort. Tender, juicy beef coated in a rich, savoury-sweet marinade comes together in minutes, making it perfect for busy weeknights or whenever you’re craving a comforting homemade meal.

One thing that makes this recipe even easier is using Fresh Pantry’s MealPrep™ Bowls. I simply marinate the beef directly in one bowl, keep the sliced onions and minced garlic neatly prepped in another, and have everything ready to go before I even switch on the stove. No cluttered countertops, fewer dishes to wash, and a much smoother cooking experience. Once everything is prepped, all that’s left is a quick stir-fry over high heat until the beef is beautifully caramelised.

Serve it over warm rice with a sunny side up egg, a fresh salad, and a sprinkle of sesame seeds for an easy meal the whole family will love.

Ingredients
500g beef short plate, thinly sliced
½ cup store-bought Korean beef bulgogi marinade
1 onion, sliced
4 cloves garlic, minced
Sesame seeds, for garnish
Steamed rice, for serving
Sunny side up egg, for serving (optional)
Salad, for serving (optional)

Method
• Combine the beef, bulgogi marinade, sliced onion, and minced garlic in a bowl.
• Mix well and marinate for at least 30 minutes, or overnight for even more flavour.
• Heat a large pan over high heat.
• Add the marinated beef and cook, stirring occasionally, until browned and the fat has rendered.
• Carefully discard the excess fatty oil from the pan, then continue cooking for another 1–2 minutes until the sauce is slightly caramelised.
• Serve over warm steamed rice with an optional sunny side up egg and a side of fresh salad.
• Finish with a sprinkle of sesame seeds and enjoy!
